PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE IN THE SOCIAL SERVICES:

City and County of San Francisco:  October 2012 – June 2013                                        Social Worker, Child Protective Services: Provided client-centered counseling services to parents and youth involved in the child welfare system.  Provided case consultation and case management services. Supervised court mandated visitations between parents and youth in out-of-home placements.

Larkin Street Youth Services:  October 2008 – November 2009                             Residential Counselor Assisted Care/Aftercare: Counseled HIV+ youth aged 18 – 24 with mental health and/or substance use issues at a licensed residential care facility for the chronically ill within a harm reduction framework.  Served as the lead facilitator for, Headspace, a mental health group. Taught life skills and coordinated daily activities that promoted independent living. Coordinated and supervised educational and recreational activities. Assessed for suicidality and collaborated with outside providers to ensure clients’ safety.
